More Details
WHO IT’S FOR
The Recovery Course is open to anyone struggling with addiction or compulsive behaviour; drugs, alcohol, social media, pornography, sex, gambling, self-harming. In fact anything that has a hold on you. You will be able to defeat that thing you keep returning to.
The course is for people starting a recovery journey, as well as for people who have been in recovery for years, and who would like to take a fresh look at the steps from a Christian perspective.
FORMAT
The evening starts with a meal served at 7:30 (arrive 7:15). You then have a video presentation that lasts about 25 minutes which is watched with a coffee and pudding in hand.
You then break into groups for a discussion that is lead by one of the team. You can contribute as much or as little as you wan’t. It’s a low pressure environment, and you’ll make friends. The groups are divided male and female. And all our leaders have experianced addiction.
WORKING AT IT
Anything worthwhile takes a little effort. But you are valuable and worth the effort. Each week there is some simple Coursework that you undertake at home. It helps eyou explore the 12 steps process and make it personal to you.
The Coursework is not compulsory, but like most things, the more you put in the more you get out. The completed Coursework is private and for your benefit entirely, nobody gets to see it.
